HEF is funding a workshop for 3rd grade Social Studies teachers and the Elementary Writing Coordinator on how to organize and run a Town Meeting Simulation. Standards for third grade have put more emphasis on learning about a student’s type of government and how to participate. The Town Meeting Simulation, planned for this Spring, will allow students to write articles to put into the warrant, provide a budget, discuss and debate the articles and finally vote to determine whether or not the articles will pass.
