Grant Description:

Funding would enable us to partner with the Think Kindness organization to help
expand a Kindness initiative we launched this January in collaboration with the
East PTO. Funding would cover expenses associated with hosting a Think
Kindness Assembly at East Elementary titled Kindness Ninja that will kick off the
year long effort to Inspire Measurable Acts of Kindness, as well as kindness
materials for the year including kindness journals, posters, teacher resources,
parent materials, student leadership materials, daily follow-up announcement,
follow up- videos and additional kindness pintables.
This year’s effort included monthly kindness challenges so this opportunity to
partner with Think Kindness would be a perfect opportunity to grow our kindness
challenge and increase impact. While this year’s effort was well received and
generated excitement with our students, the support of a well-founded
organization whose purpose is to engage schools in kindness efforts, will help us
grow our impact and gain greater success in engaging the entire school

community. The support of Think Kindness will help us better reach the students,
teachers and parents so that we can enhance the students’ understanding and
efforts around kindness and anti-bullying. It will facilitate the use of common
language around efforts and focus on developing the students as leaders in the
kindness effort in our community.

How much funding are you seeking?
$
3900.00

Would partial funding of this grant be possible?
No

Is there any other information you would like to provide HEF in consideration for this grant?

If this were an initiative that HEF was able to fund for other Hingham schools we
could likely get a discount. We are aware of kindness efforts being made in other
schools in the town and would be happy to reach out and connect with other
Elementary Schools, HMS or even HHS, if this was feasible. Attached pricing guide
shows that for a minimum of 3 schools each school would be charged $1,750. If
this is not something that HEF could do now, we would also be happy to pilot the
program at East this year to track impact for consideration of other schools in
future years.

I have discussed this with my Principal or Administrator and he/she endorses this request:
Yes, I have secured endorsement from my Principal / Adminstrator
