A Saw Stop Ultra Safety Table Saw is a piece of equipment using new technology which makes it impossible for it to cut through human skin.

Purchasing a new Saw Stop Ultra Safety Table Saw would be valuable for the school and the Hingham Community by providing students enrolled in the Construction Technology course with a safe replacement for our 50-year-old saw. SawStop’s patented safety system stops a spinning blade on contact with skin. The blade stops in less than 5 milliseconds and drops below the table, minimizing a potentially life-altering injury to a mere scratch. Last year, this exact saw was funded to replace our old table saw at the High School building. We like it so much, we are asking this year for the HEF to fund the replacement of our 50-year-old saw for the Construction Technology Program (The offsite High School Technology Engineering Courses).
