Purchasing a new Powermatic Wood Cutting Band Saw would be valuable for the school and the Hingham Community by providing students enrolled in Wood Working courses in the Technology Engineering department with safe, state-of-the-art equipment to replace our band saw with outdated safety features. The PM1500 is the second saw in Powermatic’s super-premium bandsaw line. The PM1500 is designed to have all the features, convenience and performance a user could want.
The power switch itself contains a safety disc. When the disc is removed from its slot, the saw can’t be turned on. The disc contains a strong magnet, so it’s really easy to remove and stick close by on the saw whenever you have the cabinet doors open or are making adjustments to the saw. This disc is one of the saw’s many thoughtful safety features.
